Christmas Carol Competition

The Royal Choral Society announces a Christmas Carol composition competition for young composers to celebrate its 140th year. The winning composer will receive a cash prize of £1000 and will hear the carol performed as part of the choir’s annual Christmas Carol concert at the Royal Albert Hall, London, in December 2012.

Carols submitted must be genuine original new compositions, which have not previously been performed in public or published.
Composers should be born on or after 1st January 1986.
The deadline for entries will be on or before 1st February 2012
The winner and runners-up will be informed by email by 1st June 2012 and announced on the RCS website.

Entry forms can be downloaded from this website page. Entries should be sent together with personal CV, an accompanying handwritten letter, and an accompanying reference from a Music Director or suitable referee, whose contact details should be included for verification purposes, to:
