Friends of the Royal Choral Society

Welcome to the information page for Friends of the Royal Choral Society.

As a Friend, you are entitled to 10% off tickets for our own promotion concerts - Messiah on Good Friday at the Royal Albert Hall and our Summer Concert, which this year is on Wednesday 14th July at Southward Cathedral when we are singing Bach’s Mass in B Minor.

You will receive our Summer and Christmas Newsletters, with information on the choir's forthcoming events and concert schedule, and Jan Kitteridge, who runs our Friends programme, will keep you updated on any social events that have been organised around one of our concerts. This includes picnics at outdoor summer concerts through to warmer indoor drinks at Christmas, where you can meet fellow choral enthusiasts who share your passion for oratorios and opera!

We're also inviting Friends to come to our Open Rehearsals which we advertise twice a year − this is primarily to recruit new members to the choir, but we know you like a glimpse of what happens behind the scenes so you're welcome to come and listen in. The next Open Rehearsal is on Monday 26th March 2012 at 6.30pm at the City of London School for Girls, where we hold our weekly rehearsals, and we will be rehearsing Handel's Messiah, for our annual Good Friday concert in the Royal Albert Hall. For details on how to find it, go to www.clsg.org.uk and click on Location. Please email the RCS office to let us know if you'd like to come to this.

If you would like to join the Friends of the RCS, it costs £20 a year − just send your cheque, payable to the Royal Choral Society, and contact details and mark it for the attention of Jan Kitteridge at the RCS office: Studio 9, 92 Lots Road, London SW10 0QD. Jan will then be in touch to say hallo and give you the latest information.

Every arts organisation needs an active and healthy Friends movement, so we hope you help to continue the traditions of our fantastic choir.
