With its reputation for excellence and versatility, the Royal Choral Society has already attracted sponsorship for individual concerts. Previous sponsors include JP Morgan, English Heritage and the NSPCC. Waitrose sponsored a magnificent performance of Haydn’s Creation in Peterborough Cathedral, when the RCS was accompanied by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and professional soloists. This event was presented exclusively for John Lewis Partnership account card customers and was so successful that in 2002, the RCS sang two further concerts in Winchester, and Peterborough, both sponsored once more by Waitrose.
